Alison Waterhouse - Circles for Learning
Circles for Learning has been developed by Alison Waterhouse over the past 5 years. Alison developed the Circles for Learning project in primary schools in East Sussex where she led and developed the innovative way of working with children as a way of building the positive foundations for Mental Health and Wellbeing. As colleagues became aware of her work they asked to get involved so Alison set up the Primary Research Project for 5 schools in East Sussex where she worked closely with the class teachers to both design and develop the project in their schools. This work enabled her to work in both small rural schools and very deprived large urban schools as well as with a variety of teachers. Due to the interest of professionals in the Secondary field Alison has just started a research project with 4 differing secondary schools to explore and measure the impact of the work within their environment over the next academic year. This work is forming a research MA with the University of York.
